The tiny island of Anguilla is a beach-lover’s idea of paradise. The 16-mile-long by 3-mile-wide island boasts more than 30 beaches along its coastline, every one of them with white sand and turquoise seas – the perfect base for your luxury villa holiday in Anguilla. The island is full of laid-back Caribbean charm and you’ll find the food scene as delicious as it is relaxed.

Anguilla Region Guide

If you feel you must do more than lie on a stunning beach or the pool of your luxury villa with a page-turner, the island offers great snorkelling and diving with a beautiful reef.

With 33 white sandy beaches, some secluded and some with atmospheric beach bars perfect for dancing into the sunset to the sounds of reggae, it’s safe to say you will find a corner of this intimate island perfect for you. But not all of Anguilla’s finest points are on dry land and, with temperatures typically ranging between 20°C and 25°C, the sea tends to be gentle and calm, with some occasional surf on the Atlantic side of the island.

Its unparalleled reefs make diving or snorkelling excursions a must, while a day spent deep-sea fishing is sure to get the adrenaline pumping. Many luxury villas in Anguilla offer paddle boards and water sports equipment, perfect for a day spent playing in the big blue.

Should you fancy a change in scenery from one of Anguilla’s pristine beaches, you could take in a round of golf or visit one of the island’s many art galleries, museums or historic sites, or book yourself in for a day of total indulgence at one of two world-class spas. There is something for everyone on a luxury villa holiday in Anguilla.

When to Visit Anguilla

Boasting warm weather all year round, Anguilla is the ideal luxury villa holiday destination no matter what time of year. The warmest and driest months are between December and March. Between June to November, the island does experience rainfall, but with no mountains, the island experiences lesser rainfall than other islands, with rain unlikely to last all day. Anguilla’s average temperature tends to be 26°C with warm sunny days and gentle trade wind breezes.

What We Love About Anguilla

Alternatively, fly to Antigua and then transfer to Anguilla by small plane.

Best Places to Eat and Drink in Anguilla

It’s not just its beaches and luxury villas that are world-class, Anguilla boasts some truly outstanding restaurants that deliver the very best ingredients that the island and the surrounding Caribbean have to offer – both in local delicacies and dishes inspired from further afield. While the food may be the height of sophistication and elegance, Anguilla operates a warm and inviting vibe, so stuffy dress codes are dismissed in favour of a more relaxed attire, perfect for when you’ve thoroughly switched over into holiday mode. For a true taste of island life, swing by one of the many beach bars or roadside barbecues, which tend to mostly take place at the weekends- Ken’s BBQ is notorious for mouth-watering street food.

For unique dining, try Veya restaurant for the feel of dining in a treehouse, or take a short boat journey across to Sandy Island where the one and only restaurant on the sand banks serves up delicious seafood.

Of course, you can’t have a luxury villa holiday in the Caribbean without sampling some of the local rum, whether it’s a fruity rum punch or a tropical Pina Colada, a rum cocktail is as mandatory in Anguilla as your suncream or passport! Gwen’s Reggae Bar and Grill on Shoal Bay offers reggae and rum in equal measures- is there a perfect combination for an evening out of your luxury villa on Anguilla?
