Luxury Villas in Antibes

Luxury Villas > France > Antibes

Where old meets new, Antibes is situated on the Côte d’Azur between Nice and Cannes. Known for its ancient walls and dominating ramparts as much as it is for the luxury yachting Port Vauban, the enticing city is home to some of the world’s finest super yachts as well as the iconic Picasso museum.

In contrast to the sleek modern yachts, wander through the cobbled streets of the old town, browse in the local shops and visit the covered market for fresh ingredients for dinner in your luxury villa.

Antibes Region Guide

Located in the highly desirable region of Côte d’Azur, Antibes is one of France’s picture-perfect towns. The peninsula where the town of Antibes is found is known as Cap d’Antibes and has a complete mix of goings-on so you’ll never struggle to find something to do on your holiday here. From relaxation on the beaches to sporting activities, from a buzzing nightlife to cultural sight-seeing, it has it all.

The Best Things to do in Antibes

Cap d’Antibes exudes luxury and glamour, which can be seen through the millionaires’ chateaux and luxury villas. This is especially true in the summer when the luxury yachting port in Antibes, Port Vauban, becomes home to some of the best super yachts. The perfect place to grab a table for lunch and watch the boats and crowds go by.

If you are heading into the centre of Antibes from your luxury villa you will find a walled city with Greek origins. It is a little more traditional and is loved for its quieter atmosphere, the local restaurants, cafes, bars and the history that can be discovered. Best explored on foot, you are bound to see the local craftsmen in action in the maze of streets, before stumbling across a little local café, ideal for a rest and something to drink. Or walk until you reach the covered market in Cours Masséna, where it’s hard to not get completely carried away purchasing all the fresh produce from the Corsican traders.

If art is of interest, the Musée Picasso is not to be missed. Picasso spent 1946 painting in this chateau in Antibes and he later gave the museum all the work he had done here. Walk out into the sculpture garden and you will struggle to not see how he was inspired by the sea view in the distance. However, for a somewhat different experience inspired by a similar era, the Absinthe Bar on the market square is well worth a visit. You can’t miss the big green sign but be warned it may be a little blurry on your way back out!

Sharing the peninsula is Juan-les-Pins, another Riviera neighbourhood, just slightly further afield. It’s possible to get here by foot along the coast from the centre of Antibes. Juan-les-Pins offers a wide choice of lively café terraces, good-quality restaurants and some trendy beach bars and clubs that come alive during the long summer months. Juan-les-Pins is also famous for its annual jazz festival, ‘Jazz à Juan’, which since the 1920s has attracted giants of the genre. The event occurs every July and is one of the most significant events on the European jazz calendar.

The Best Time to Visit Antibes

The spring months are arguably the most beautiful, while summer is simply the busiest with the most activities and the most fun to be had. June to September are always the most popular months with temperatures reaching the high 20s, minimal rainfall and long summer nights.

What We Love About Antibes

We love the contrast between Antibes and Juan-les-Pins. Although completely different, you would not want to see one without the other.

How to Get to Antibes

The closest airport is Nice, which is approximately a 30-minute drive away. By car, it is approximately 1 hour from Monaco and 1 hour 30 minutes from St. Tropez.

The Best Places to Eat and Drink in Antibes

If local authentic Provençal dishes are what you want to taste, then go nowhere other than La Taverne du Safranier. Known as Le Saf, this fantastic bistro is not the fanciest of dining experiences, (a terrace overlooking a car park is the kind of view you can expect), but the food is some of the best you may ever taste. If you promise to not judge this bistro by its cover, we bet you won’t be disappointed.

Having fresh fish is a definite must when in this seaside town. Ideally located across from the old town of Antibes and on the Baie des Anges, you’ll find Le Bacon, one the most renowned fish restaurants in France, which has been awarded a Michelin-star. Take in the heavenly setting and let your taste buds be amazed on your luxury villa holiday in Antibes.

Fine dining is not to go amiss when in Antibes. Step outside of your luxury villa and Les Pêcheurs, found in Cap d’Antibes beach hotel, offers a seasonal menu, which combines both flavours and fragrances across the French Riviera. The restaurant offers a 6 course tasting menu, and the food perfectly complements the beautiful setting and panoramic terrace with the Mediterranean Sea as your backdrop.
