Description

Stylish and set in a stunning location, the Backstage Loft is a truly unique property. This luxury ski chalet in Zermatt is the creation of the renowned artist and designer Heinz Julen – a typically Swiss building with uber-modern twists. The chalet is decked out in furniture, furnishings and art from Julen’s own studios in Zermatt, bringing a real home-from-home atmosphere to the striking, minimalist interiors.

The stunning open-plan kitchen and dining space have a fabulous woodburning stove as their focal point. This space is housed in a double-height room, with smaller rooms on both floors encased in glass, so you’re able to look into both the cosy living room and luxe bedrooms from the main living space – the architecture here is as much a work of art as the pictures hanging on the walls.

From the comfy tweed-upholstered, Gothic-style chairs around the dining table, you can also look out onto the mountain through enormous floor-to-ceiling windows. In the warm and welcoming living room, wood floors, rustic furniture and comfy sofas piled high with faux fur throws create a relaxing spot in which to cocoon yourself with a glass of wine and a good book. Additionally, a Jacuzzi tub and TV room ensure there is plenty of room for everyone to relax and find space for themselves.

Each of the luxury bedrooms is designed with all the comforts and mod-cons you’d expect from a high-end hotel in mind.
