Chalet Alex is a luxury duplex ski apartment in Zermatt, which along with its sister chalet, Elena, forms part of the larger well known Chalet Shalimar in Zermatt.
Offering an on-site spa, stunning interiors and views that would make Heidi envious – if you’re looking for a luxury ski chalet in Zermatt, look no further than Chalet Alex. This chalet is the perfect bolthole for a small group and if snow cover permits, it is possible to ski back to the chalet.
A typically Swiss combination of stylish minimalism and a warm welcome makes Chalet Alex a home from home you will really relax in. Wood panelling and comfy armchairs, as well as a cosy snug where you can curl up in front of the TV, make this chalet a real oasis from the outside world. Why not take your morning coffee or glass of bubbly in the evening out onto the terrace to enjoy your view of the Matterhorn.
On the lower ground floor of the building is a fabulous shared spa area where you can enjoy the sauna, Hammam or a relaxing swim in the indoor swimming pool, all without leaving the building.
Comfy and cosy bedrooms are a delight to retreat to at the end of the day. And if you’re really lucky (or quicker than everyone else) you could land the bedroom with the view over the Matterhorn. What a way to wake up in the morning!
Location
Chalet Alex is nestled in the exclusive enclave of Winklematten area in Zermatt. When snow cover permits, it is possible to ski back to the chalet. Otherwise, it is a 10 minute walk to the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise lift and 10 to 15 minute walk or 5 minute electric taxi ride into the centre of town.
Zermatt is a car-free resort which has a railway station, so guests often arrive by train.
Geneva Airport is approximately 3 hours drive away.

Bedrooms 1 & 2:

Double/twin bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, TVs and balconies.
Chalet Alex can be taken alongside Chalet Elena in the same building to sleep up to 20 guests.
Catering
Food and drink are a highlight of your stay at Chalet Alex. Your chef will be on hand 5 nights a week to ensure everyone’s needs and whims are catered to throughout your stay.
In the mornings, a hearty continental breakfast is served to ready you for an energetic day on the slopes.
For five evenings during your stay, drinks and canapés are served before dinner – a four-course treat, cooked using local ingredients wherever possible. To accompany this delicious food you have a choice of hand-picked house wines, free soft drinks and a complimentary drinks tray with two bottles of spirits, beers and mixers.
For little ones, your chef will be happy to prepare an earlier children’s tea at a time to suit them.
Please note that the staff have two days off a week when dinner and canapés will not be served but your host will be delighted to make recommendations or bookings for local restaurants.
Alternatively, Chalet Elena can also be taken on a bed & breakfast or self-catered basis if you prefer.

Guests of Chalet Alex have shared access to the spa in the basement of the chalet which includes an indoor swimming pool, which children will enjoy.
As well as the main living area, the apartment has two separate TV snugs, where younger visitors can shut themselves away to watch a film while the adults catch up over drinks.
Five nights a week, your private chef will also be happy to prepare an early children’s tea for younger members of the group so that you can enjoy a quieter, adult meal in the evenings.
Cots and highchairs as well as nannies and babysitters can be arranged on request.
