As quirky as it is cosy, Chalet Cheval Blanc is a beautiful bolthole set in the quiet hamlet of Le Raffort, just outside Meribel.
Despite its peaceful location, the property is just steps from the lifts and you can ski straight back to the door at the end of each day. And with both chauffeur service and a bus at your disposal, you can be in the centre of Meribel in no time at all.
Chalet Cheval Blanc is spacious and sumptuous with warm, earthy colours and statement furniture from Ibiza and the Netherlands bringing a unique atmosphere. A stunning stone staircase winds its way through the middle of the property. By day, the windows allow light to flood in and by night it’s illuminated by candles and statement lighting. In the living room, capacious sofas and tactile soft furnishings create a cosy and welcoming feel. Sprawl with the papers, warm your feet by the fire and just enjoy the view. Nearby is a modern-rustic kitchen where you can fix yourselves snacks or sit at the island and watch your chef at work, and then there’s a stylish dining room with a long, rough-hewn table and comfy chairs.
There’s plenty to keep everyone busy when you’re not out on the mountains, from the beautiful indoor swimming pool, with views out through the huge windows, to the stunning cinema room, just made for movie matinees on chilly afternoons.
Part of the property is made up of an annexe, adjacent to the cinema with two of the seven bedrooms, a kitchenette and living area. It’s a perfect space for grandparents, teenagers or maybe a nanny – anyone who needs a bit more of their own space now and then.
As well as lots of luxuries, all the practicalities are considered, too, with a ski and boot room at the entrance where you can kick off all your ski gear and a service lift to make life easier when you return home laden with shopping.
Each of the en-suite bedrooms is decorated in its own individual style, but all of them are supremely comfortable and designed to be ultra cosy and welcoming when you’re ready to lay your head down at the end of each day.
Location
This luxury ski chalet in Meribel, nestled in the hamlet of Le Raffort, is the very definition of convenience, with its ski-in/gondola out location. The Raffort Piste is next door and the Olympic gondola is right opposite the chalet, which takes you straight to La Chaudanne in the centre of Meribel.
Cheval Blanc is just 2km from the centre of town and a literal stone’s throw from the slopes and the lift.
The chalet comes with a driver service from 8am-8pm and there’s also a free Meribel bus that stops outside the door, which runs until gone midnight.

Good food and fine wine are a key part of your stay at Chalet Cheval Blanc. You’ll wake to a hearty breakfast each morning (cooked five days a week and continental on two days) before you step out onto the snow.
When you return, having ditched your gear in the ski room, head straight for a seat by the fire to enjoy homemade tea, coffee and cakes.
In the evenings, pre-dinner canapés are served, followed by a gourmet three-course meal, created using fresh, local and seasonal ingredients wherever possible.
Much thought has gone into Chalet Cheval Blanc’s wine list. There’s something there for everyone and each course is paired with a carefully selected bottle.
On the chef’s two nights off, the chalet staff will help you with recommendations and bookings for restaurants.

Children of all ages will feel right at home at Chalet Cheval Blanc, which has plenty of space to play and even terraces for some fresh air when it’s needed.
The location of this property, right opposite the lift and so close to the piste you can ski back to the door, makes getting out on the snow with kids that bit easier.
When they come home from ski school in the afternoons, kids will enjoy splashing in the indoor swimming pool or perhaps snuggling down with a movie in the sumptuous cinema room.
One of the bedrooms is a family room, sleeping five in total, with a double bed, single bed close by and a mezzanine with toe-to-toe single beds.
