Description

Chalet Doss is a luxury ski chalet in the Dolomites that has a little magic about it. Firstly, it’s situated in a stunning and peaceful location, just outside the town. Sit quietly on the veranda and you’ll hear the babbling of water just behind the property and the leaves whispering in the breeze as you gaze out over forests and meadows. There are few ski chalets where you can be so close to the action and also surrounded by nature.

Step inside, and you feel like you’ve walked into a fairytale Gingerbread cottage. Chandeliers hang from a vaulted wood ceiling, cosy leather armchairs are gathered around an enormous fireplace and a rustic wooden table is surrounded by beautifully carved chairs, where you can relax over long, leisurely meals prepared by your chef.

Picture windows look out onto the forests and the snow and make you feel as cosy as can be, tucked inside on comfy sofas under warm throws and blankets, after a day out on the slopes. Should you need warming through before you take to the sofa with your blanket, you might like to have a dip in the outdoor hot tub with built-in hydro massage to soothe any aching legs picked up on the slopes. There’s also a wellness area downstairs with Jacuzzi and sauna, where you can happily while away an afternoon letting go of all your worries.

On snowy afternoons, escape to the games area for a game of pool, a film or a Playstation tournament in the TV room, as you wind down before the evening begins in earnest. Dinners are a bit special here, and you’ll want to be well rested to make the most of your chef’s fabulous local, seasonal menus.

After dinner, we recommend you take your drinks out onto the terrace to watch the stars and listen out for the rustle of local wildlife and perhaps spot the odd badger or owl, just getting up for the night.

When you retire to your bedrooms, you’ll find each en-suite room is uniquely decorated in its own style. But each has a simple, luxury feel with Scottish linens and beautifully crafted beds and mattresses that ensure the deepest of sleeps.
