Description

This stylish chalet perched above Le Fornet is the stuff luxury ski holiday dreams are made of. With its cathedral style ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows and fabulous 180-degree views, you couldn’t be more immersed in the mountains without getting cold feet.

Chalet Orca is just steps from the snow so you can be out there before anyone else in the morning, but secreted away in the Le Fornet area of Val d’Isere, it’s also a really peaceful and secluded spot, where you won’t be bothered by anyone else.

Inside, fabulous architecture and a quirky eye for style make this a unique ski chalet, with a flavour all its own. Rustic woods and metals are complemented by modern materials, such as the sleek glass staircases and huge cathedral-style windows. Meanwhile, a nod to traditional chalet style in the fur throws and blankets is given a contemporary edge with the uber modern artworks and furnishings.

The main living area offers the perfect place for a party with friends or just a spot to chill out after a day out on the mountains. An eclectic collection of sofas and armchairs gives everyone somewhere to relax, but the best seat in the house has to be the wonderful seating built into the floor-to-ceiling windows that look straight out onto the mountains and village. Sit here with a glass of wine in the early evening, warmed by the fire, watching the sky darken and the lights twinkle on. It’s the stuff of fairy tales.

Nearby there’s a contemporary dining space, where you chef will serve up delicious meals from the professional kitchen, and you’ll sit and enjoy fine wines from the cellar and excellent food long into the evenings.
Overlooking all this is the mezzanine floor, dedicated to fun and games, with a snooker table, TV and colourful modern sofas – the perfect place to send the kids to relax while the grown-ups open the bubbly downstairs in front of the fire.

If you like your downtime a little more active, the chalet has a fitness suite and a stunning swimming pool down in the spa. Any aching legs picked up on the slopes will soon be soothed after a couple of hours spent in the Jacuzzi, sauna and Hammam.

When it’s time for bed, four luxury main bedrooms and a wonderful family/children’s room are awaiting you, with en-suite bathrooms, open to the room for a bit of boutique hotel style. Your butler will have ensured every pillow is plumped and every luxe duvet turned back ready for you to roll into bed. Sweet dreams!
