Description

This beautiful, luxury ski chalet in Val d’Isere occupies a former monastery. However, the thick, stone walls are the only thing that’s monastic about it these days. With a fabulously well-stocked wine cellar, stunning swimming pool that moves seamlessly from indoors to outdoors, cinema screen and luxury en-suite bedrooms, you could say it’s moved upmarket since its days as a house of God.

Sumptuous living areas, including a sitting room with huge fireplace and enormous, squashy sofas gathered around it provide lots of room to lounge and relax in together. A rather regal dining room makes for a great backdrop to the fabulous meals you’ll enjoy here, all cooked by your private chef, of course.

But what makes Chalet Toit du Monde unique in its field is the space and standard of accommodation in the bedrooms. Each has its own en-suite, which has underfloor heating and an oversized bath tub, complete with rain shower, which turns into a steam room to seat four. Remote control lighting allows you to alter the atmosphere at the touch of a button, too. The bedrooms also each have their own relaxation area, so that everyone has a place to escape to if they wish from time to time.

Perched right on the slopes, yet just five minutes’ chauffeured drive from the centre of Val d’Isere, its top-class credentials are matched by its exclusive location…To be honest, we can’t think why the monks ever left.
