The striking stone building is as impressive inside as it is outside, with big airy rooms perfect for socialising and relaxing. Exposed beams and an original fireplace give the otherwise airy lounge a cosy, homely ambience. While in the bedrooms, bold and colourful patterns are used to contrast with the traditional terracotta tiled floors and typical Italian dark wood furniture.
Away from the main villa, a one-bedroom cottage is the perfect romantic retreat and comes complete with its own open-plan kitchen and dining area.
The villa’s huge garden is undoubtedly its biggest selling point. Not only because of its sweeping countryside views, but also because of its beautifully manicured foliage and numerous peaceful areas. With over 3000 plants, each taking it in turn to bloom as the seasons change, the garden at Villa Caminata is always a rainbow of colour throughout the year.
A large swimming pool takes pride of place and is surrounded by sun loungers and soft grass for sunbathing. Away from the pool there is also another grassy area with adjacent outdoor sofas, a pretty dining pergola clad in fuchsia flowers sits in front of the cottage and there is a further dining terrace outside the kitchen, perfect for breakfasts in the sun.
Location
As part of a vast estate in Umbria’s beautiful countryside, Villa Caminata enjoys uninterrupted views of the forested valleys and vineyards that make up the area. Despite this seeming remoteness, it is actually within easy reach of a selection of restaurants and shops in the village of Pierantonio, which is just a 10 minute drive away.
On the estate itself there is a restaurant, cooking school, bar and the option to get involved in several outdoor activities.
The airport in Florence can be reached in a drive of less than 2 hours, while Pisa airport and Rome and its airport are around a 2 hour 30 minute drive away.

Catering
You’ll quickly settle into life at Villa Caminata and find yourself right at home rustling up delicious meals in the cosy kitchen. Al fresco dining is picturesque under the pergola dripping in bright pink flowers or under the Umbrian sun at the table set by the kitchen, perfect for breakfast as people come and go as they please. Vast lawns are ideal for a casual picnic lunch and a BBQ is as inviting on warm summer’s eve as a crisp autumn day.
If you’re not a natural cook, you might like to make the most of your time here and take a cooking class at the estate’s cooking school. Or, simply leave it to the experts, who can come in and cook at the villa for you upon request.
There is also a lovely restaurant on the estate which serves traditional Umbrian fare, and for lunches or drinks, the Orangerie Bar is the ideal spot to while away a few hours. Takeaway is available so you can enjoy the best of both worlds.

Kids
With a mixture of twin and double bedrooms Villa Caminata is the perfect villa for large families or groups of family friends. Children will love the swimming pool and the huge garden is perfect for games of hide and seek or fun team sports. There is also a tennis table set available on request at a small additional charge.
With multiple dining spots available, parents and older children can split up and enjoy separate dinner parties, before reconnecting for drinks and games in the spacious lounge or out in the garden under the stars.
Keeping kids entertained has never been simpler, with bikes available for rental to explore the adventurous trails, horse riding and farm visits perfect for animal lovers and quad biking ideal for adrenaline-seeking teens.
