Description

We don’t say this lightly, but Villa Cassandra must be one of the most exclusive luxury holiday properties in Europe – George Clooney isn’t one of the neighbours here for nothing. Lake Como, one of the deepest in Europe, is known for its wealthy clientele and its love of all things luxury, and this property has it in spades.

A large staff is on hand to attend to your every need. If you’re not aristocracy, you’ll be treated as if you are, and if you are, you’re probably still in for a pleasant surprise. The service is nothing less than five star.

The villa is accessed only by boat so you are master of your own domain here. And what a domain it is. The property is one of the most beautiful on the lake with truly stunning gardens. Wander among floodlit cypresses by night, listening to the rhythmic lapping of the lake and the occasional sound of diners and promenaders drifting across from the eastern shore, or take a dip in the infinity pool.

Inside the aqua-shuttered villa, Sienna marble floors and a sweeping staircase welcome you. A formal drawing room and dining room on this floor are furnished with exquisite Italian antiques and handmade soft furnishings. Upstairs, the living room and library offer a more casual space in which to relax.

The light and airy bedrooms all have stunning views that are a joy to wake to each morning. Each is beautifully furnished and has its own TV and DVD player. A further two bedrooms and well-appointed living quarters are to be found in the nearby Terrace House, which boasts panoramic lake views. A separate building to house the cinema and gym means everyone will have plenty of space to indulge their own hobbies and get a bit of me-time.

Surrounded by striking cypress trees, this villa offers a private sort of paradise you’ll be hard-pressed to find anywhere else in the world.
