Description

Villa Fontelunga is a style haven, in the heart of Tuscany. Nestled in this ancient Etruscan settlement, designer furnishings and clean lines bring contemporary cool to this beautiful property.

The terracotta building with its pretty blue shutters is an imposing sight as you approach, but one-off pieces of vintage Italiana in every room, as well as characterful touches such as a fresco above the staircase, make the villa feel like a very cosmopolitan home – not just holiday house. Chilling out on the terrace with a drink, or chatting late into the night in the relaxed and quirky lounge area, you feel as if you’re staying the week with (your most stylish) best friends. It will come as no surprise to learn that one of the co-owners had a previous life as a designer on movies including Howards End and Four Weddings And A Funeral.

Each of the bedrooms has dual-aspect views and its own stylish appeal, and comes with hi-tech extras such as the ‘Beats’ bluetooth music systems, making every room a little haven for you to escape to if you wish. The villa is sometimes in use as a boutique B&B so the bedrooms are all very generously sized.

In the height of summer, you can dine on the terrace, looking out at the stunning view of the Valdichiana, or over in the gazebo, illuminated by lanterns and on cooler nights, an open fire. Should the weather not stand al fresco eating, you can enjoy your meal in the cosy and rustic barrelled-ceiling dining room inside the villa.

An impressive and imaginative concierge service means you’ll not want for anything at Villa Fontelunga. Whether you have in mind a Tuscan picnic to enjoy under the olive trees or hiring a vintage car  for you to whizz around the hills and valleys for a day, your whim is their command. Enjoy!
